The GOP-controlled House has passed the so-called “Save Our Bacon” act as part of this year’s Farm Bill. This ill-named act would forbid states from setting food safety standards that are more stringent than those set by the federal government. This would be a disaster for most Americans, since federal food safety standards are embarrassingly low. Please to everything you can to remove the language of the “Save Our Bacon” act from the Senate version of the Farm Bill. Thank you.
