Trump's Defiance of Courts, Imprisonment Without Trial are Acts of Tyranny

To: Sen. Warren, Rep. Auchincloss, Sen. Markey

From: A constituent in Newton, MA

April 14

I am writing your office because we have a constitutional crisis in progress that demands an urgent response. The White House is abducting people and sending them overseas to be locked away forever without due process - and they’re insisting judges can’t make them stop. This is blatant tyranny. I would like you to take real and immediate action. We don’t have kings in this country, and the rest of the government has to use all available tools to respect and enforce the rule of law and the Constitution. Matters will only get more dangerous the more Trump and Musk cross the line without consequences. You should be opposing everything the Trump Administration puts forward until this stops. You should be refusing to fund deportations and detention, and bar any payments from being made to El Salvador until they release Kilmar Abrego Garcia and the other prisoners to us. You should be using procedural measures to bring Capitol Hill to a stop until Kilmar is rescued and everyone this regime has targeted is able to use their basic rights. And you should be doing everything within your ability to reassert the judiciary’s power to stop Trump from acting as a dictator.
