As a parent, I am vehemently opposed to "encouraging", "promoting", "ensuring" or funding the use of AI in K-12 schools. No one's children need to be forced to use a machine that steals the work of others, then makes things up wholecloth. No one's children need to be forced to use a machine that encourages delusion and violence. AI is not a learning tool. It is a plague, and its proponents are liars. Our children need to learn critical thinking, analysis, and truth - exactly none of which AI is capable of. And don't think it's lost on me that the white billionaire technocrats, mostly men, want to force this on public schools. Public schools that are full of poor children, full of Black and brown children. If it was so great, the technocrats would be shoe-horning AI in to the private schools their own children attend. So-called "AI" has absolutely no place in education.
