I couldn't leave a voice mail so please treat this email as you would a phone call. I have grave concerns about three useless. First I strongly urge Senator Durbin to oppose H.R. 2616, the PROTECT Kids Act, and H.R. 2617, the Say No to Indoctrination Act. These bills will endanger vulnerable LGBTQ+ students and unfairly punish schools and parents for protecting these students' privacy and safety. I have a wasy nephew and a trans nephew and very much support the LGBTQ+ community. I ask that you do the same. Second,  I am so angry at the money Trump has awarded himself and his Department of Justice's  order that permanently bars the IRS from auditing his tax returns. Its wrong!! The money will create a $1.8 billion slush fund and Trump is not even accountable for how its spent. He can line his pockets, bribe allies, and funnel taxpayer dollars to convicted criminals and Jan 6th insurrectionists!  I demand Senator Durbin support legislation to block the creation of this blatantly corrupt slush fund!  Finally, I am angry  about the Supreme Court gutting the Voting Rights Act and allowing states to deny minority populations fair representation. I ask that Senator Durbin speak out against this clearly political attack on our democracy and protect our constitutional rights, by… 1. Supporting the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. 2. Reintroducing the Freedom to Vote Act 3. Supporting a federal ban on partisan gerrymandering to stop robbing voters of their right to choose their representatives 4. Supporting measures to reform the Supreme Court, such as term limits and limits on the use of shadow docket rulings. Thank you for your time and consideration.
