Arresting a sitting judge is an alarming escalation that signals a disturbing disregard for the judicial branch's legitimacy and constitutional role. This action threatens the critical system of checks and balances between the three branches of government. It creates an atmosphere of fear and intimidation that undermines public faith in impartial justice. Even if the charges have merit, arresting a judge is an extreme step that raises serious concerns about the administration's motivations and respect for due process. We must vehemently oppose any attempts to improperly influence or subvert the judiciary through intimidation tactics. Preserving judicial independence is paramount to upholding the rule of law in our democratic society.
