Co-sponsor the NBCT Resolution

To: Sen. Durbin, Rep. Ramirez, Sen. Duckworth

From: A constituent in Chicago, IL

February 27, 2025

As a National Board Certified Teacher, I am proud that every day I am able to positively impact our students and communities. National Board Certified Teachers benefit students – more than a decade of research shows National Board Certified Teachers produce greater student learning compared to other teachers – and we also positively impact other teachers in our schools and districts. During the first week of March, Rep. Julia Letlow (R-LA) and Rep. Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) will introduce the second annual bipartisan resolution recognizing the contributions of National Board Certified Teachers, including accelerating student learning, increasing teacher retention, and mitigating learning loss. This resolution recognizes educators who have met the profession's highest standards and raises awareness of National Board Certified Teachers so that Congress may work to better support them. I urge you to join now as a co-sponsor of this important resolution so that we can begin building a bipartisan coalition that champions accomplished teaching for the betterment of our students. Thank you for all you do.
