I urge you to speak out immediately and forcefully against federalization of National Guard troops against the consent of the governor of California. The state is managing the situation and the governor feels law enforcement has adequate resources. To send in troops absent a request from the state governor is a violation of federal law and state sovereignty and must not happen without maximum noise and immediate legal pushback. The situation has been deliberately provoked by violent arrests of non-resisting people by thugs that are masked and unidentified and that refuse to identify themselves or provide judicial warrants. The indiscriminate arrests have been what amounts to kidnappings that have included legal asylum seekers, green-card holders, tourists, and even citizens. It was a situation calculated to provoke citizenry to fear and anger. We must not let the Trump regime implement martial law against federal statutes without a massive outcry.
