President Trump is openly disrespectful of the Constitution and it's alarming that he is asking Congress to pass a continuing resolution that would fund the federal government at current levels because it would mean also funding unconstitutional conduct by government representatives, state-sanctioned violence against Americans, and dangerous abuses of power. Instead, I request Congress to do its duty and use its Article 1 authority to defund an authoritarian agenda that is already harming American citizens and America's relations with other nations.
