Stop Attacks on Vessels in the Pacific and Caribbean; No Strikes on Venezuela!

To: Sen. Gillibrand, Rep. Tonko, Sen. Schumer

From: A constituent in Schenectady, NY

October 28

Today, the country woke to the news that another vessel has been bombed in our name, this time killing 14 people in the Pacific, in international waters. I am writing to demand that Congress stop these illegal, immoral and unethical attacks the Trump administration has been making on vessels in the Pacific and Caribbean oceans, which have already killed dozens, and keep the administration from expanding this campaign of violence to land. The administration has no business claiming they are going after drug dealers in foreign waters with no evidence; drug-related crimes are also notably not punishable by the death penalty! We are disgusted that our tax dollars go toward killing people while millions of us struggle to feed our families and access basics like healthcare and housing. How are we talking about pausing SNAP benefits, but it’s ok to spend money to put military ships all over the place? Pull our ships out of the Caribbean and Pacific and stop our interference with other countries! We don’t want war or to be involved in any more violence or state terorrism!
