An Open Letter

To: Sen. Collins, Sen. King, Rep. Golden

From: A verified voter in Lewiston, ME

September 22

I ask Maine's Congressional Delegation to press Susan Collins to resign. Ms Regular order has besmirched her record. Read Pro Publica: The first time Kao came face-to-face with Collins, in 2018, he told the FBI, he had to pay for the privilege. Collins would not meet unless he agreed to donate to her campaign, he said. While it is not illegal for politicians to exchange face time for contributions — in this case, just a few thousand dollars — it was not the last time Collins would seek Kao’s support." Pay to play, eh? That's not how a democracy is supposed to work. Our elected representatives are supposed to serve their constituents. As you know, this isn't even all of it: Collins was getting money funnelled into her campaign by a shell company created for Navatek and she was funnelling government contracts to Navatek. I'm horrified and I expect all members of Maine's congressional delegation other than Collins to take a stand on this, to state they would never engage in such conduct, and to push for Collins to apologise publicly and resign. Congress also needs to investigate all of the Navatek contracts.
