Investigate Trump Family Profiteering and Conflicts of Interest

To: Sen. King, Sen. Collins, Rep. Pingree

From: A constituent in Damariscotta, ME

April 20

I need you to investigate the Trump family's profiteering from the presidency and support legislation to close these ethics loopholes. Jared Kushner is conducting foreign policy as a "volunteer" while running a $6.1 billion venture capital firm funded almost entirely by Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar. He negotiated Middle East peace deals with the same governments that bankroll his business. This isn't public service—it's a shakedown. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump have multiplied their wealth tenfold since the 2024 election, jumping from $40-50 million each to $300-400 million. They invested in Powerus, a drone company now competing for Pentagon contracts under a $1.1 billion initiative, right after the administration banned foreign drones. They're also pitching drone technology to Gulf states to counter Iranian attacks—profiting from a war their father started. These aren't conflicts of interest. They're corruption. Kushner dodges financial disclosure laws by claiming volunteer status. The Trump sons face no ethics rules at all. Congress must pass mandatory disclosure requirements for all family members conducting government business and ban officials from financial relationships with foreign governments. The American people deserve to know who's buying influence in this White House.
