Presidents Trump and Putin have reached some sort of agreement to end Russia's war on Ukraine. Mr. Trump said, “I think President Putin wants peace and President Zelenskyy wants peace and I want peace. I just want to see people stop being killed.”
Yes, that's what we all want, but remember, Russia attacked Ukraine unprovoked. Ukraine should not give up a single inch of territory to end the war they didn't start. Yet that's what Trump's agreement with Putin calls for. Our Secretary of Defense said as much.
Ending the war by rewarding Russia with Ukraine's land land invites them to do it again. Where next, Poland? Georgia? Finland?
I urge you to stop this "peace" deal and find one that gives Ukraine back its territory and punishes Russia for its illegal and immoral land grab. We'll never replace the lives lost to Putin's expansionist fantasies, but we can make him realize it's not worth trying again.
