We did not invite or authorize the millions of illegal border crossers who have entered our country without permission. It is past time to enforce our existing immigration laws and return those who came here unlawfully to their home countries. Until the current large-scale unauthorized population has been removed, the United States should pause most new immigration and asylum processing to regain control of our borders and restore order. Yes, carrying out mass deportations will be logistically difficult, expensive, and disruptive—but fairness and the rule of law demand it. American citizens deserve a system where everyone is treated equally under the same laws. Congress should fully fund ICE and other enforcement agencies so they have the personnel, resources, training, and protective equipment needed to safely and effectively carry out the immigration enforcement priorities that the American people have repeatedly supported at the ballot box.”
