I am writing because I have been alarmed in the last 2 days to see comments from Democratic Congressmen Suozzi and Moulton suggesting that messaging around “men playing women’s sports” may have contributed to the election loss. Please do not go down this road. Please, as leading Democrats, you must stand up and forcefully denounce this. We are not going to sell out trans kids who want to have a normal childhood, just like we are not going to sell out migrant communities or Muslim communities. There are hard days ahead, but we will not make them any easier by putting any marginalized group’s right to exist on the chopping block. Please lead on this issue. We are not sacrificing anyone’s rights.
