I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding the recent passage of the "One Big Beautiful Bill" in the Senate and I encourage the House to vote no on approving it further. It is extremely obvious that the terms are not in the favor of the American people and it is absolutely disgusting that this is even being considered with the amount of damage it will do to so very many people. The changes to Medicare and the ridiculous increase to the ICE budget are not helpful for humans in the US. This mass deportation is frightening and completely based on discrimination that I thought we had moved on from in this day and age. If it wasn't wrong why do ICE agents need to hide their identities? The HR1 Big Beautiful Bill is morally wrong and anyone who's approving it is obviously getting something from it that they are prioritizing over their job the champion the rights of the people that voted for them. Or they are too scared of retribution from the president to stand up for what is right. The world is watching and your vote is public information. Your constituents will not forget the way we have been treated during the next election. Undermining our trust while thinking only of the interests of the 1% destroys public trust and your fiscal responsibility to this country. We expect our representatives to champion protecting the rights of the majority, the everyday working man struggling to afford living, over corrupt millionaires and billionaires that don't need any additional help. I urge you to think of your constituents instead of the wealthy 1%. This bill would wreak havoc causing harm in multiple ways - killing health care coverage for millions, causing rural hospital closures, increasing the budget deficit exponentially, removing SNAP benefits, adding huge education budget cuts when children are already struggling, giving ICE yet more money for kidnapping people indiscriminately who have done nothing wrong and throwing them into concentration camps in deplorable conditions where people are dying with no explanation or recourse. Honestly, there is so much here that should be illegal. Please truly think about how this will affect us before casting your vote. I beg you not to agree with this bill and the dystopian nightmare it will bring. We need your help now more than ever. Do the right thing.
