Abrego Garcia and Trump Overreach

To: Sen. Schumer, Sen. Gillibrand, Rep. Clarke

From: A constituent in Brooklyn, NY

April 15

Trump is refusing to honor the unanimous Supreme Court ruling to bring home Abrego Garcia, whom the inept administration wrongly deported. Trump has the president of El Salvador doing his bidding as well, as evidence yesterday at the White House propaganda event Done our country was founded and the Constitution was ratified, we have had three separate but equal branches of government. Trump, in three short (yet painfully long) months has time and time again abused his powers set forth in the Constitution. He has usurped Congress and is now defying the Supreme Court. He needs to bring home Abrego Garcia. Stating he cannot bring him home is absurd. He has the power to send someone abroad but no recourse to bring them back? El Salvador surely is making millions of dollars to offshore these people. It wouldn't be good business to say no and not return him. He needs to stop with the wrongful deportations. His plans to send "homegrown", American citizens, to prisons in El Salvador is unconstitutional. This will be his beginnings of sending political rivals, lawyers, journalists and others who dare stand up to him and disagree with him to 21st century concentration camps. Let's call this what it is. We've seen this sort of thing before nearly a century ago in Nazi Germany. Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. At this stage, defying the Supreme Court, along with usurping Congressional responsibilities, calls for one course of action by the Congress. Impeachment proceedings are clearly called for.
