Vote No on the SAVE Act

To: Sen. Durbin, Sen. Duckworth

From: A verified voter in Chicago, IL

June 29

Vote against the SAVE Act. The House has already passed it, and now the Senate is the last line of defense against a bill that the Brennan Center estimates would strip 21 million eligible Americans of their ability to vote. Only half of Americans own a passport, yet this bill would require one just to register. That's not election security — that's a barrier designed to keep citizens out of the ballot box. The Heritage Foundation's own database shows just 34 documented cases of voter impersonation across billions of votes cast over 40 years. There is no crisis this bill is solving. What it would create is a bureaucratic nightmare for voters who've moved, changed their name, or simply never needed a passport. Senators Murkowski, Collins, and McConnell have already raised concerns. Stand with them. Block this bill.
