Release the Epstein Files and Prosecute the Guilty Now

To: Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn, Pres. Trump, Rep. Carter

From: A constituent in Leander, TX

March 2

I write today with grave concern and unwavering urgency regarding the still-incomplete release and handling of all government documents, investigative files, and associated materials pertaining to the federal investigation of Jeffrey Epstein, his criminal enterprise, and all persons connected to it. In November 2025, Congress overwhelmingly passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act, directing the Attorney General to make publicly available in a searchable and downloadable format all unclassified documents and records in the possession of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and related agencies concerning the crimes of Jeffrey Epstein and his associates. That law passed by voice vote in the Senate and a 427–1 margin in the House and was signed into law on November 19, 2025. Despite the clear mandate and statutory deadline, the subsequent release of documents by the DOJ has been incomplete, heavily redacted, fragmented, and missing substantial responsive material — including at times entire interview summaries that were meant to be disclosed under law. Recent reporting indicates the DOJ is still reviewing millions of pages and that some documents involving serious allegations were delayed or withheld for unspecified reasons, which has fueled widespread concerns about transparency and potential selective disclosure. The release of law enforcement records must not be subject to political calculus, undue influence, or the reputational concerns of powerful individuals. The American people have a right to understand the full scope of this criminal enterprise, including the extent of abuse, the network that enabled it, and any decisions by prosecutors, agency leaders, or contractors that resulted in dropped charges or sealed proceedings. Therefore, I urge Congress to take the following actions immediately: 1. Declare unequivocally that all files, records, recordings, memoranda, summaries, grand jury materials, investigative notes, logs, lists, email communications, and associated evidence relating to Epstein’s criminal activities must be disclosed without further delay, absent narrowly tailored lawful exemptions (such as personally identifying victim information that cannot be redacted sensibly). • This includes directing the DOJ to provide exact timelines for completion of any outstanding releases and a public accounting of what remains withheld and why. 2. Require transparency in redaction criteria used by DOJ, FBI, and Department attorneys, including the legal authority, justification, and oversight mechanism protecting against over-redaction or politically motivated suppression. 3. Initiate robust oversight hearings to ensure accountability for any official, prosecutor, agent, or office that improperly withheld, altered, destroyed, or delayed the production of responsive materials — irrespective of party, position, or political stature. • If evidence of intentional suppression or obstruction of justice emerges, appropriate referrals to relevant prosecutorial authorities (including the Office of Special Counsel or criminal charges for obstruction) should be made. 4. Ensure that victims’ rights and privacy are protected in the process, while also upholding the public interest in comprehensive accountability and transparency. The mandate you overwhelmingly passed into law was intended to ensure justice, prevent cover-ups, and provide closure to too many survivors whose lives were devastated by Epstein’s crimes. Anything less than full fidelity to that mandate undermines the rule of law, erodes public trust in our institutions, and leaves open unresolved questions about how and why non-state actors and powerful individuals operated with impunity for so long. Thank you for your service and your attention to this matter of profound national importance.
