End deliberate cruelty masked as policy

To: Rep. Moore, Sen. Capito, Pres. Trump, Sen. Justice

From: A constituent in Buckhannon, WV

June 29

This Republican budget is a death sentence for rural America—and I’m not using that phrase lightly. In West Virginia alone, seven hospitals are at risk of shutting down due to the GOP’s cruel Medicaid cuts: Logan Regional Medical Center, Welch Community Hospital, Broaddus Hospital Association, Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, Grafton City Hospital, Montgomery General Hospital, and Jackson General Hospital. These facilities are lifelines for thousands in our state—many in medically underserved communities with no alternatives. Gutting Medicaid means shutting down emergency rooms, maternity wards, and critical care units. People will die because of this budget. Don’t call it fiscal responsibility. This is deliberate cruelty masked as policy—ripping away healthcare from the most vulnerable while padding the pockets of the ultra-wealthy and bloating enforcement agencies. If you’re supporting this monstrosity, you’re not representing West Virginia—you’re actively working against us. Stand up, do your job, and fight for the people you were elected to serve. If you can’t do that, then step aside for someone who will.
