Support and vote for the SCERT Act!

To: Rep. Carter, Sen. Ossoff, Sen. Warnock

From: A constituent in Hinesville, GA

June 12

I'm writing in support of the Supreme Court Ethics and Transparency Act. SCERT is a bill that is long overdue and would prevent some of the worst abuses of the Supreme Court since it has skewed to favor Trump. The courts should be subject to the same scrutiny and accountability as the other branches of government, especially since six of its Justices have shown a disturbing tendency to overturn precedents that have benefitted the American public. For example, Justices Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, Thomas, Alito and Barrett have made no attempts to hide their allegiance to the Federalist Society and Heritage Foundation, seeing as they were selected by Trump at the behest of Leonard Leo. For that reason alone they should have long since been recused or removed from the bench, along with the fact that they committed perjury during their confirmation hearings by claiming they would respect and uphold precedent. They are ill-deserving of their positions, allowing Donald Trump immunity from prosecution for his many crimes. This decision has endangered the nation and its people, and the only hope we have of regaining all that America lost is for these judges to be replaced with ones who truly care about the Constitution and not about the Southern Baptists that pay for their vacations. Please pass SCERT.
