Student Loans

To: Sen. Markey, Rep. Keating, Sen. Warren

I am concerned for my husband and my friends who have college loans they are paying back. The system is predatory and we are all scared about the changes being implemented for political reasons. Changes to loan forgiveness and loan payments should not be made based on politics. We are real people facing real challenges every day. Our government should be working to help us citizens, not working to publicly flog us for political clout. I want protections to stay in place for student loan borrowers that find themselves in times of transition. Whether they lost a job from company wide lay offs, or had to resign to stay home to take care of a sick family member. When a person experiences a huge change in their social structure (like a job loss or a loss of family members) the last thing they need is to worry abou t their student loans increasing. Please look out for us. Please act in our best interests, and make decisions based on the kindness and compassion we need when life is uncertain. We need your help. Thank you for your time.
