Defend Democracy or Be Remembered as an Enemy of It

To: Sen. Peters, Sen. Slotkin, Rep. Dingell

From: A verified voter in Ann Arbor, MI

October 14, 2025

Your constituents are watching. National Republican leaders, including Speaker Johnson, have crossed a dangerous line by calling peaceful No Kings rallies “terrorist” events. This is a vile attack on the First Amendment and on every American who dares to speak out. You must act. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Now. We demand that you: Publicly and unambiguously reject these false and inflammatory statements. Post your defense of the First Amendment on all of your official social media accounts. Contact every law enforcement agency in your district to guarantee the safety of peaceful demonstrators. Complete these actions by start of business, Wednesday, Oct. 15. Anything less is a betrayal of your oath of office. Constituents will not forget who stood up for democracy, and who stood by in silence.
