Investigate Palantir’s $1.8 Billion in Secret Government Operations

To: Sen. Cruz, Rep. Casar, Sen. Cornyn

From: A verified voter in Austin, TX

February 3

Palantir Technologies earned $1.855 billion from the U.S. government in 2025, growing 55% year-over-year. CEO Alex Karp told investors they supported “some of the most interesting, intricate, unusual operations that the U.S. government has been involved in, many of which we can’t comment on” (Gizmodo, February 2, 2026). What operations? Senators Ron Wyden and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez demanded answers in June 2025 after reports that Palantir is building a searchable mega-database of taxpayer records at the IRS. This potentially violates Section 6103 of the tax code. Palantir employees have been installed at the IRS, DHS, HHS, FDA, CDC, and NIH. Former Palantir engineers publicly warned the system could be used for political targeting. The company’s $60 million ImmigrationOS helps ICE select neighborhoods for deportation raids. More than 70% of people arrested have no criminal history. I demand you investigate whether these contracts comply with federal privacy laws. We need answers about what data Palantir can access and who gets to view it. How long is this information stored? Does legal authorization actually exist for sharing sensitive data between agencies? Conservatives worry about government overreach. Progressives worry about civil liberties. This should concern everyone who pays taxes and expects basic privacy protections. Investigate whether this administration is violating our constitutional rights with surveillance systems that have no legal guardrails.
