Should a new Continental Congress should be convened? The current Congress seems to be ineffective and in dereliction of their constitutional duties. The deference to the Trump regime is deeply disturbing. The MAGA and Republican led Congress allows Trump to run roughshod over the Constitution and flag that he says he loves so much. The Democrats in Congress are our only hope to preserve as the Republic that has endured since George Washington and true patriots formed this nation. Now, we look more like 1930s Germany than the United States of America. With the Fourth of July right around the corner, this would be a good time to send a copy of the Declaration of Independence should be sent to the White House. The actions being taken today are similar in many aspects to that of King George III and the American colonies. Due process is being ignored. Suspension of Habeas corpus is being considered Taxation without representation. Tariffs are in fact a tax. Congressional responsibilities for tariffs and taxes has been usurped by the executive this no representation Deploying troops among the population is now occurring. British troops quartered in Boston was an escalation that the Continental Congress petitioned A despot is once again held above the law. There are many more similarities, but these are the most glaring examples. Trump proclaims to want law and order, yet he released thousands of convicted felons from the January 6th insurrection. He says he wants to protect law enforcement officers in Los Angeles, yet again, he pardons January 6th felons who assaulted and killed Capitol police officers. He calls peaceful and legal protestors insurrectionists...and he pardons thousands of felons from January 6th. He clearly holds Congress in disregard and has no respect for Congress as a body that is equal and independent from the executive branch. Again, look at January 6th of course and that proves his disrespect towards Congress as he showed no regard for your safety or your lives. He has sidestepped you since assuming office on January 20th. He has no regard or respect for the courts either, openly defying their orders and calling them extremists. Is this the actions of someone that loves this country and our Constitution? These are actions of someone craving to be a dictator. Americans, reclaim your rights before it is too late
