Quit blaming everyone else for YOUR failures!

To: Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn, Pres. Trump, Rep. Carter

From: A constituent in Leander, TX

December 18

Enough. President Trump needs to stop obsessively badmouthing President Obama and President Biden and start taking responsibility for the job he currently holds. He is the President of the United States right now. The power is his. The decisions are his. The consequences are his. Blaming past presidents is not leadership — it is deflection. It is weakness. It is an admission that he would rather point fingers than govern. Every policy failure, every economic shock, every diplomatic blunder, every domestic crisis happening today is occurring under his watch. No speech attacking Obama. No rant blaming Biden. No recycled grievance from years ago changes that simple, unavoidable fact. Presidents do not get to govern by grievance. They do not get to campaign forever. And they do not get to dodge accountability by attacking their predecessors instead of doing their jobs. If President Trump believes the presidency is about whining, blaming, and relitigating the past, then he has fundamentally misunderstood the office. The American people elected a president — not a commentator, not a heckler, not a perpetual victim. Lead, or step aside. Own the office, or stop pretending to deserve it.
