Arts and culture budget
To: Sen. Anthony
From: A constituent in Lansing, MI
August 29, 2025
I know there are many priorities when it comes to the state budget, but the budget the House just passed guts Michigan in so many ways.
One easy to overlook area when there is so much to fight for are the arts, but the arts are essential to Michigan and to Michigan residents. They are make the state thrive, what fuel thousands of jobs, what increases property values and improves the lives of every single resident of the state.
The current budget eliminates ALL funding for arts and culture. Please, fight hard to restore the money that keeps cultural institutions in communities large and small across the state active and functioning.
Don't sign your name to a bill that thrusts a knife in the very heart of Michigan.
