I am writing today to add my voice to the many others around the world demanding that the U.S. and Israel stop standing in the way of humanitarian aid reaching the Palestinian people.
There are numerous aid organizations ready to enter Gaza and provide necessary, life-saving support. There is no need for the U.S. to come up with some sort of alternative plan. That is a waste of our time and resources. We just need to get out of the way.
Additionally, the plans being proposed by the U.S. are not actual humanitarian plans. They are just thinly veiled plans for ethnic cleansing of the region. We all can see this.
Children are starving as we speak. Children who have already been traumatized beyond belief by the destruction of their homes and the slaughter of their families and friends.
In the words of Pope Francis, “This is cruelty, this is not war.” It is long past time for the cruelty to end. The U.S. has supported this for far too long. In the Name of God, I urge you to remember your humanity and take all available actions to end our support for this cruelty.
