Remove Secretary McMahon & Restore Title IX Protections The Department of Education's decision to rescind federal Title IX protections for LGBTQ+ and transgender students is an unacceptable abandonment of civil rights. Under the leadership of Education Secretary Linda McMahon, the Department has weaponized federal policy to strip vulnerable youth of basic protections against harassment, discrimination, and exclusion in their own learning environments. Title IX was enacted to guarantee equal educational access, free from sex-based discrimination. By reinterpreting these rules to exclude gender identity and sexual orientation, the Department deliberately leaves LGBTQ+ students exposed to severe harm and systemic hostility. Erasing these safeguards directly undermines safety, academic opportunity, and mental well-being for thousands of students across the nation. Public education must remain a haven for all students, not a battleground for discriminatory agendas. I urge Congress to exercise its oversight authority immediately by taking two vital actions: Enact Legislation Restoring Title IX Protections: Explicitly codify non-discrimination protections for sexual orientation and gender identity into federal law. Demand Accountability: Call for the immediate removal of Secretary McMahon for failing to protect the civil rights of all American students. I expect our leaders to stand against prejudice and defend the fundamental dignity of every student.
