Vote NO on Trump regime's HR4 Budget Recissions package

To: Sen. Markey, Sen. Warren

From: A verified voter in Lowell, MA

July 10

This Trump regime's proposed rescission package, H.R. 4, is an unconscionable attack on vital programs that provide essential assistance to millions around the world. By slashing funding for public broadcasting institutions like NPR and PBS, life-saving global health initiatives like PEPFAR, and crucial foreign aid for disaster relief, refugee support, and economic development, this legislation threatens to undermine democracy, exacerbate humanitarian crises, and cost innumerable lives. The $1.1 billion cut to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting would cripple NPR and PBS, trusted sources of independent journalism and educational programming that strengthen civic engagement. Eliminating $900 million for PEPFAR jeopardizes decades of progress in the global fight against HIV/AIDS. And stripping billions from international aid organizations like USAID obstructs vital work addressing poverty, natural disasters, conflict resolution, and more. These draconian cuts serve only the administration's self-serving political agenda at the expense of human lives and democratic values. As elected representatives entrusted to uphold the common good, you must forcefully reject this dangerous rescission package. A vote for H.R. 4 is a vote against fundamental American principles of compassion, freedom of the press, and global leadership. I implore you to denounce this legislation and fight to preserve funding for these essential programs that make the world more just, stable and secure.
