congress I’m writing to urge you to take action to reverse the cuts among AmeriCorps college access programs. These programs are vital to low-income, first-generation students — the very students who are trying to improve themselves and their families. They are LITERALLY trying to live the American dream. They face every possible headwind to college and/or trade school completion. Cutting AmeriCorps, trimming the maximum Pell award - all of these are downright cruel actions that will have incredibly negative consequences for our communities, all throughout Michigan. PLEASE stand up and fight for these programs!
