The New York Times is reporting that Attorney General Pam Bondi wrote to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz demanding, among other things, access to Minnesota's voter registration rolls as the price for withdrawing ICE from the state.
To me this makes it clear that ICE is not in Minnesota to protect Minnesotans from violent or criminal undocumented residents. It seems that the real reason for the presence is to bully and intimidate so that information can be extorted in exchange for allowing Minnesotans to live in peace.
The presence of ICE in Minneapolis has already resulted in the deaths of two people who appear to have been engaged in no activity other than attempting to support their neighbors and document the increasingly cruel and lawless behavior of ICE agents. Attorney General Bondi appears to have forgotten that she swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution and is permitting the people under her command to run roughshod over our rights as citizens. It is time for her to go. Please do everything in your power to hold her and the people working for her accountable for their actions.
