I strongly oppose President Trump's proposal to detain deported immigrants at Guantanamo Bay. This plan undermines basic human rights and the principles of justice that our nation stands for. Guantanamo Bay is a symbol of unlawful detention and abuse, and using it for immigrants would further erode our reputation on the global stage. Immigrants, regardless of their status, deserve due process and humane treatment. Detaining them in such a facility is a dangerous step toward normalizing indefinite detention without trial, violating both constitutional and international standards. I urge you to reject this proposal and stand firm in upholding the rights of all individuals, regardless of their immigration status. We must ensure that our policies reflect our core values of justice, fairness, and respect for human dignity.
