As I watch my 401K evaporate due to Trump's delusional and misguided actions since taking office, I have to ask, what are you and other congressmen doing to restore the Constitutional powers and reverting levying tariffs to Congress? This goes beyond the dumpster fire that Trump has made of the economy. For three months, it seems that most of Congress is content to let this evolution of our democracy turn towards authoritarian rule. There are so many blatant constitutional crises going on, but not enough push back from Congress. I hope you share the urgency that many of us are feeling. I hope that you will collectively take a stance and start reclaiming Congress's position as a separate and an equal branch of government. By granting the emergency powers, the executive branch is shredding our democracy. They have upended the global economy. They have alienated our closest trading partners and allies. Why would Trump intentionally destroy the capital markets and global economy? He and his billionaire club cabinet have profited for decades from what was a prosperous and fair system that the US as a whole benefitted from Did he do this out of jealousy and envy that President Biden restored the post -pandemic market and economy? I'm guessing as much as the Biden envy, he is doing this so that he and his oligarchs can purchase assets at a deep discount and increase their power. He also is likely waiting for protests to grow above what we witnessed this weekend and crescendo to a point that he will declare martial law. This is right out of authoritarian playbooks. It is not an exaggeration. It is time for Congress to be bold. It is beyond time for Congress to take swift action. Delaying further likely will result in the end of our Constitutional Republic. Will we have elections in two years that are not MAGA rigged? Only if Congress acts now before it is too late Thank you.
