Support FY2026 Foreign Assistance Funding U.S. foreign assistance represents less than 1% of the federal budget but plays a significant role in addressing global health, food security, humanitarian crises, and conflict prevention. These programs also support U.S. diplomatic and security interests by helping stabilize fragile regions and prevent emergencies that can escalate into larger crises. According to recent modeling by global health and humanitarian organizations, large reductions in U.S. foreign assistance could contribute to as many as 1.6 million preventable deaths worldwide by 2026. Cuts made in 2025 have disproportionately affected programs focused on disease prevention, maternal and child health, and emergency humanitarian response. Congress is currently considering FY2026 appropriations for State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs that would restore approximately $50 billion in international assistance. Please support strong funding for U.S. foreign assistance in the FY2026 budget.
