Please do not vote yea on the Laken Riley Act. This is racist, unconstitutional legislation that will neither lower violent crime (which is already at a record low, and also immigrants are far less likely to commit crimes than natural-born US citizens), nor will it improve our immigration system. It does, however, grossly exploit the victim's death (you can ask her family). This bill aims to deport anyone who is merely arrested, not charged or convicted. So when a Brown person is deemed suspicious for being Brown in the US, an arrest can throw them out of our country! Please, please stop thinking the way to succeed as a Democrat is to appease white conservatives who literally never vote with us, and focus on the people like me who got you elected. If you would like your base to reelect you, and volunteer for and donate to you, focus on us and doing what is right for the Constitution, and human rights.
