Take immediate action to protect Social Security, SSI, and SSDI!

To: Sen. Murray, Sen. Cantwell, Rep. Jayapal

From: A constituent in Seattle, WA

I’m asking that Congress take immediate action to protect Social Security, SSI, and SSDI Reports confirm that Russ Vought is leading efforts to rewrite Social Security eligibility rules the rules he is drafting would make it harder for seniors, widows, and disabled workers to qualify for benefits, stripping assistance from hundreds of thousands of people who earned their coverage through decades of payroll taxes. Removing age as a factor in disability eligibility or raising the retirement age are just the first steps in a broader attempt to weaken and privatize Social Security. Congress must: 1. Hold hearings on proposed Social Security rule changes and their potential impact; 2. Get a written commitment that no cuts, delays, or eligibility restrictions will be enacted for Social Security, SSDI, or SSI. We earned these benefit and we count on you to defend them!
