I think the handling of The Boring Companies presence in Nashville is atrocious. Not only did we not get a voice on if they could consider making their tunnel, but at the emergency vote the board smirked at those who were making an argument against it. Knowing they’d already given a football fields worth of land to them already! The vote was just a rouse to make us think we had a voice in this. Historically the Boring Company has left things unfinished for the city to clean up. And even if that isn’t the case? It’s a super tunnel for teslas and electric cars. It’s not for public transit, it’s not for bicyclists, and it’s not for the common man. It’s something you’re all doing to turn a profit. It makes me shameful to be from here, and I used to be proud of this city despite what downtown has become. I voted for sidewalks, I voted for more public transit, and I increased my own taxes to do so. But if this is what that’s going to I want no part in it, even if I don’t get that option.
