Preserve the vital role of 504s in public schools

To: Sen. Capito, Del. Hillenbrand, Rep. Moore, Gov. Morrisey, Pres. Trump, Sen. Willis, Sen. Thorne, Sen. Justice

Statistics illustrate the pivotal role Section 504 plays in ensuring equitable access to education for individuals with disabilities. The lawsuit from 17 states threatens to dismantle crucial protections that have facilitated inclusivity and accommodation within schools for decades. Revoking these safeguards would constitute a regressive step, undermining the fundamental right to education for those with diverse needs. It is imperative that we uphold Section 504 to promote an inclusive learning environment that empowers all students to reach their full potential, regardless of disability status. Preserving these protections aligns with our commitment to fostering a society that values diversity, compassion, and equal opportunities for success.
