The Democratic Party's refusal to forcefully oppose Trump's growing authoritarianism, such as sending people to foreign prisons without due process, allows the erosion of civil liberties and democratic norms. Congress must take action to prevent human rights violations like this, halt the dismantling of federal agencies, uphold checks and balances, and pursue impeachment to preserve American democracy. They need to stop being accommodating and combat this destruction using the aggressive tactics employed by Republicans.
