Oppose SAVE Act

To: Sen. Slotkin, Sen. Peters, Rep. Dingell

From: A constituent in Saline, MI

April 18

The SAVE Act represents an attack on voting rights by imposing restrictive documentary proof of citizenship requirements for voter registration. This disproportionately burdens marginalized communities, creating unnecessary barriers to the fundamental right to vote. Rather than safeguarding elections, it undermines core democratic principles of inclusivity and equal access. I urge you to reject this legislation as it threatens to disenfranchise eligible voters and erode faith in our electoral system. We must expand voter access, not erect discriminatory obstacles that only serve to suppress voter participation. Protecting the integrity of our elections demands defending every citizen's ability to make their voice heard at the ballot box.
