Investigate Non-Consensual Digital Content on Twitter/Grok

To: Sen. Durbin, Sen. Duckworth, Rep. García

From: A constituent in Chicago, IL

January 8

I am writing as a concerned constituent to urge you to take immediate action regarding non-consensual digital manipulation of images, including the removal of clothing from photos of women and children on platforms such as Twitter/Grok. This practice is a clear violation of privacy, consent, and human dignity. It constitutes digital sexual abuse, can cause serious emotional and psychological harm, and is often illegal under existing child protection and harassment laws. Social media platforms have a responsibility to prevent, remove, and take accountability for content that exploits users in this way. I urge your office to: Investigate Twitter/Grok for hosting or failing to remove digitally altered sexualized content without consent. Hold platforms accountable for policies and practices that allow non-consensual manipulation of images, especially those involving minors. Support stronger legislation criminalizing non-consensual deepfake pornography and AI-generated sexualized content. Provide resources for victims, including legal recourse and mental health support. The rapid rise of AI-generated content demands swift legislative and regulatory action to protect vulnerable individuals from exploitation. Failure to act allows predatory behavior to continue unchecked. I respectfully request a public statement outlining the actions your office will take to investigate and prevent non-consensual digital content.
