I am asking you to please support and stand with transgender individuals and transgender rights. As someone who loves a transgender person, I have never been more scared in my life for their future. I have seen the impact these anti-trans laws and threats have had in my home, and in my community. I am asking you to support transgender healthcare, transgender employment rights, transgender housing rights, free speech for all individuals, and the rights afforded to transgender individuals under the constitution. I am asking you to resist any attempts from Republican lawmakers to diminish the rights of transgender individuals, and all LGBTQ+ individuals. I am asking you to support transgender youth and continue to make our state of Oregon a safe place for transgender people. Please do not fold to Republican and far right pressures to dismantle the rights the LGBTQ+ community has worked so hard to gain. Please remember our state motto, “she flies with her own wings,” and continue to support the members of our community who may still be finding their wings.
