Please vote NO on HR 9495, now known as Section 112209. This bill would give the Trump administration unprecedented power to suppress nonprofits. It would enable the administration the power to strip organizations of their tax exempt status. We have already seen unprecedented partisan executive overreach, often for the sake of private gain, often for the sake of revenge. Please imagine the ruinous consequences to civil society, all sorts of charities, environmental groups, the arts and culture. I am already alarmed at the way Congress has unconstitutionally ceded its tariff and appropriations powers. Learn the lesson! This bill must fail. Please reaffirm your oath to the constitution and stop permitting the dismantling of the constitutional order.
