Your Legacy Is On The Line. Stop The Israeli/U.S. Genocide Now

To: Sen. Hickenlooper, Pres. Biden, Sen. Bennet, Rep. Crow

November 12

I am writing to urge immediate, decisive action to address the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and hold Israel accountable for failing to comply with even the most basic humanitarian obligations. Oxfam’s recent report highlights that Israel has wholly disregarded US demands for a ceasefire and aid access in Gaza, instead escalating its actions, intensifying civilian suffering, and worsening the already unbearable conditions. This conduct goes beyond a failure to meet international obligations; it signifies a blatant disregard for human life and international law. The US must respond to this with strong, enforceable actions, not just requests or rhetoric. Every day that passes without full humanitarian access, Gazans are being denied their most basic needs: food, water, medical care, and safe shelter. It is clear from Oxfam’s assessment that, left unchecked, Israel will not change course. This is genocidal in nature and must be stopped. While the US has urged Israel to limit civilian harm and grant humanitarian access, Israel’s response has been to escalate its actions, inflicting widespread suffering on civilians in Gaza. This deliberate withholding of humanitarian aid is a tactic of collective punishment—a violation of international law—and the US cannot stand by as millions of Palestinians are punished simply for existing. The US has significant leverage, and it must be used to send a clear message: the violations we see in Gaza will not be tolerated. I urge you to introduce and support comprehensive economic sanctions and a full suspension of arms transfers to Israel. Israel’s failure to adhere to humanitarian standards, as assessed by Oxfam, warrants a firm, swift response to ensure Israel understands that continued US support is contingent on respect for human rights and humanitarian obligations. We can no longer afford to ignore the urgency of the situation. The US’s failure to act will amount to complicity in these atrocities. Gazans deserve immediate relief, and Israel must face real consequences for its actions. Please stand for the fundamental principles of humanity, law, and justice by holding Israel accountable now.
