Oppose the $1.776 Billion Trump Slush Fund

To: Sen. Blackburn, Sen. Hagerty

From: A constituent in Brownsville, TN

June 5

Your vote against banning the $1.776 billion "anti-weaponization" fund is an embarrassment, and your constituents are watching. This isn't a close call. Critics from both parties have called it exactly what it is: a slush fund to reward Trump's allies and hand him and his family permanent immunity from tax audits. The Department of Justice itself backed away from it. You didn't. Senator Tillis offered you a clean off-ramp — ban the fund, redirect the money to legitimate anti-fraud work at the Justice Department. You rejected that too. There is no principled defense of this vote. You chose to protect a legally dubious presidential payout over the basic principle that no one, including the president, is above accountability. Your constituents deserve an explanation, and they deserve better.
