Pass the AI Data Center Moratorium Act I am writing to urge you to co-sponsor and pass a nationwide moratorium on artificial intelligence data center construction. Unchecked data center expansion poses an immediate threat to our communities. These facilities consume immense amounts of electricity and water, driving up utility bills for everyday Americans, straining municipal power grids, and worsening environmental degradation. Furthermore, unchecked buildouts threaten local consent while Big Tech corporations reap the economic benefits at the expense of working-class households. We must prioritize sustainable energy and community well-being over corporate profits. A moratorium is a necessary pause to allow Congress to enact vital safeguards covering power pricing, environmental protections, worker safeguards, and mandatory local consent. Please take a stand against corporate overreach and protect our natural resources by enacting a pause on data center approvals today.
