I write today to express my absolute outrage yet again. And I would hope you are as outraged as I am. Kilmar Abrego Garcia. The name should sound familiar. Illegally deported to El Salvador upon an ADMINISTRATIVE ERROR?! No. We don't get to sweep this under the rug as just an "oopsie". An administrative error is getting the wrong date on an official letter. We took someone who was here LEGALLY in the USA, accused him of being a part of a gang despite zero evidence to this fact, and deported him to another country. Deportation position be damned, that is not due process. At all. That is literally taking citizens of the United States and shuffling them off to who knows where. And now, the Supreme Court BY UNIANIMOUS DECISION (when was the last time that happened?!) told the President that they are to return Mr. Abrego Garcia to the USA. And what does Donald J. Trump do? Ignores it. Says "welp, nothing we can do now!" Likewise, Mr. Bukele, president of El Salvador, seems to hold the position "oh well, he's here now! No going back!" The Constitution is written as to enforce checks and balances on all branches of government co-equally, so that there is never one branch that wields more power than the other. Well, the Supreme Court (and other federal courts) who have been issuing court orders directing the Executive Branch are simply being blatantly ignored by the President and his loyalists. If you are looking for the definition of a constitutional crisis, we are living in one. This is impeachable. This is treasonous. You do not get to unilaterally ignore the branches of government and your constituents because "you don't want to." You don't get to deport a US citizen because you THINK they might be up to something. That is dystopian - 1984 levels of dystopian. You need to stand up to this. This is dangerous and reckless. The President is simply ignoring the Supreme Court. Demand Trump and anyone behind this to resign or draft articles of impeachment. Do SOMETHING against this. The more he undermines our Constitution, the worse off we all are, each and every day he is allowed to do it. This cannot stand. This cannot be acceptable. You need to act, and act swiftly. Please, for the love of God, do your job with this.
