Reverse Trump's politically-motivated, illegal federal employee purge. The mass firing of probationary federal employees by the Trump administration is an alarming and damaging move that undermines government services and efficiency. Terminating workers based solely on their probationary status, rather than performance or operational needs, is illegal and an abuse of power that will impair agencies' ability to fulfill their vital roles. Claims made in some emails to fired employees citing poor performance are false, and these mass firings violate federal laws and regulations. This illegal purge will have severe consequences, such as slowing essential work like drug approvals at the FDA and delaying construction projects to support veterans at the VA. Ousting skilled employees after investing time and resources into recruiting and training them is a tremendous waste of taxpayer dollars. It exacerbates long-standing challenges in building a modernized federal workforce with the necessary skills and expertise. The claim that reducing staff will increase responsiveness and eliminate waste is simply unfounded. Many agencies are already understaffed and struggling with backlogs. These arbitrary and unlawful job cuts will only compound this issue, directly harming the public and disrupting critical services that people rely on. Reinstate the illegally fired workers, and instead uphold federal employment laws and merit system principles. The government's role is to support its citizens, not punish civil servants indiscriminately through illegal actions.
