I am writing as a concerned Tennessean to demand that you immediately withdraw Tennessee’s involvement in the federal government’s militarized immigration operations. The use of our National Guard in these politically motivated deployments is an abuse of power, a waste of taxpayer money, and a dangerous step toward turning our own country against itself. Governor, this isn’t leadership — it’s escalation. It is not Tennessee’s job to prop up federal overreach or to take part in what looks increasingly like a civil conflict within our own borders. The Posse Comitatus Act exists to stop the use of the military for domestic policing. That safeguard is being ignored, and your continued participation in these operations makes Tennessee complicit in violating both the spirit and the letter of the law. Meanwhile, our own state faces serious challenges — from healthcare access and teacher shortages to crumbling infrastructure and rising costs for working families. Instead of pouring millions into unconstitutional military missions, we should be investing those resources here at home. Tennessee families need safety, stability, and leadership grounded in compassion and common sense — not militarized theater or partisan loyalty tests. As Governor, you swore an oath to protect the people of Tennessee. That means protecting us from reckless federal overreach and ensuring our National Guard serves the needs of Tennesseans — not political agendas out of Washington. I urge you to: Immediately withdraw Tennessee National Guard troops from any domestic or immigration enforcement operations. Publicly denounce the misuse of state forces in political standoffs. Commit to refocusing Tennessee’s resources on the real work of caring for our people and communities. We deserve a Governor who chooses Tennessee over turmoil. Please step back from this dangerous path and put our state first.
