Support HR8667 MISSION Rx Act: Fair Drug Prices for Our Military Families
I am writing to urge your full support for the HR8667 MISSION Rx Act, recently introduced by Congressmen Pat Ryan and Eugene Vindman. This commonsense legislation is an impactful step toward ensuring that our servicemembers, veterans, and their families are no longer forced to pay more for lifesaving medications than other Americans.
The MISSION Rx Act addresses a glaring inequity by requiring TRICARE and the Department of Veterans Affairs to access the same lower prescription drug prices already negotiated by Medicare. It is fundamentally unacceptable to ask those who have sacrificed the most for our country to bear a heavier financial burden for their healthcare.
Beyond supporting our military community, this bill is a win for fiscal responsibility, with estimates showing it could save taxpayers up to $6 billion annually. By eliminating unnecessary bureaucracy and leveraging existing price negotiations, we can provide immediate relief to families struggling with rising costs.
Our service members have kept their promise to protect our nation; now it is time for Congress to keep its promise to them. I ask that you co-sponsor and champion the MISSION Rx Act to ensure affordable healthcare for those who serve.
